Busy day

Yesterday was a busy and tiring day. We were at my parent's house, after spending the night. Steve went to fix Derek and Ginny's (my brother and sister-in-law) car. Derek thought that the car's starter may have died, but he wasn't sure. While Steve and Derek were off playing with the car I was home with Missee, Violet (my sister and her daughter) and the two dogs.

Steve ended up finding out that Derek's car only had dirty battery terminals (I think that's what he said, but I know nothing about cars so I'm not sure) and one of the spark plugs was undone. Steve cleaned up the battery and fixed the spark plugs and now Derek's car works better than it did before. Derek was so thankful that he didn't have to buy a new starter for his car he took Steve and I to Applebee's for lunch. Missee and Violet came with too. It was a lot of fun, even though Seamus and Russell (Derek and Ginny's sons) weren't very happy about being there. Russell wanted to go to a restaurant that had a playground. They were a little fussy, Violet was a little fussy too. Then we went back to my parent's house and since I didn't sleep that well the night before I was sleepy and took a nap. Steve took Missee's car to get an oil change while I was napping.

My mom works for NAMI (www.nami.org) and had a training class she was teaching this weekend at UNI (University Neuropsychiatric Institute) and they had reserved a hotel room for her for the weekend. After one night there she decided she didn't want to stay since she slept really badly so she offered the room to us. A free hotel room for the night and a free contintental breakfst? We of course took her up on the offer. We met her at the hotel so we could get the room key and the parking pass. After we had recieved the pass and room key we walked my mom to her car and she said something so funny to us that also made me blush. She said "remember, I'm expecting grandkids." She is so funny! I love my mom!

We are now back home with our two kitties (who missed us greatly, who else can pet them if we're gone?) and our piles of laundry, dirty dishes and other fun stuff that needs to be cleaned. I really need a maid, where can I find one who will work for free?
