It's been awhile......

Why is it that every time I think of something good to blog about, I'm not at home. I always forget to write down my ideas! Maybe I will be able to think of something to blog about later........maybe not.

The Avengers

I really didn't want to see the new Avengers movie, but was invited to go see it with Steve, his two brothers and their wives and Steve's dad. We went on May 12th and I ended up loving it! I love Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. He is so sarcastic and funny. Steve and I ended up taking Hunter to see it on May 18th, and then I went with my sister, Missee, and my dad to see it on May 21st. I loved the movie and now I want to see the other movies (that I should have seen first). I have only seen the first Iron Man so I need to watch the second one, Thor, Captain America, and Incredible Hulk.

I really am attracted to Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), and Chris Hemsworth (Thor). That may be why I've seen the movie three times! :)

I love the character of Loki (even though he's bad), he is a really good bad guy, and even though I think he's cute, I still don't want him to win.

I think I may have a thing for "Bad Boys" in movies. I have been "in love" with Alan Rickman since the first time I saw him in a movie. I am not talking about "Die Hard" but another movie called "Quigley Down Under" starring Tom Selleck. Alan Rickman was a bad guy in that movie (and most I've seen him in since), but I thought he was really attractive, still do. That may be why I am so attracted to Tom Hiddleston, since i have a past with liking the bad guys.

Tom Hiddleston looks better with the black hair from the movie, he looks weird with his blond curly hair, but his smile is AMAZING, even when it's an evil smile like in the movie.

I've seen Jeremy Renner in other movies but never thought he was that cute. There was something about him, as Hawkeye, that made him really cute. I loved every time he got his bow out, how he would open it. He was even cute as a bad guy (if you didn't look at his eyes). I forgot that he was in the movie SWAT with Samuel L. Jackson (who was also in the Avengers) and Collin Farrell. I guess I will have to see that movie again, maybe I'll think he was cute in that movie too.

I'm not sure if I had seen Chris Hemsworth before the Avengers, but he is really cute. Missee loves him and so I think we will be going to see "Snow White and the Huntsman" since he is playing the Huntsman.  I had seen his younger brother, Liam, in "The Last Song" with Miley Cyrus and thought he was cute (Australian accents don't hurt either).

I've loved Robert Downey Jr. for a long time. I've always thought he was cute, even when he was in his really bad drug days. I loved him in Iron Man. I love his sarcastic irreverent humor as Tony Stark. He is adorable!

Chris Evans (Captain America) isn't that cute in this movie. I probably would have thought he was cute if I hadn't seen him as "The Human Torch" in the Fantastic Four movie. He was adorable in that movie. Maybe it has something to do with facial hair. I don't think he was clean shaven in Fantastic Four, but I can't remember for sure.

OK, so the actors in the movie were cute, but the movie was action packed, funny and kept me on the edge of my seat. No wonder it's made over $1 billion so far!

Louisville, Kentucky

Last Thursday I left work early for a doctor appointment. After my appointment, Steve and I went to a book reading and signing for the new book by my mom's best friend, Ka Hancock "Dancing on Broken Glass." I had turned my phone off when I had my appointment and didn't turn it back on until after we were leaving the book signing, around 8:30. We were on our way to my parent's house (we had gotten Ka to sign a book for my mom and so we surprised her with it) and so I turned my phone back on so I could call my mom. When we got to my parent's house I noticed I had 3 texts from my boss asking me to call her.  I sent her a text saying my phone was off but I was available now.  A minute later my phone rang and it was my boss, Roxane.
Roxane explained that after I left work that day she had been called into our Medical Director's office and told that another plan with our company needed dire help in their Appeals Department and they were asking for volunteers to go there for 2 weeks. She wanted to give me a chance to discuss it with Steve and then give my answer to Willie (Manager) in the morning.
Steve and I discussed it, which was basically Steve telling me I should go. :)
I volunteered the next morning and so did one of my other co-workers. Willie asked if we were willing to go or we wanted to go. Both Cas and I wanted to go. He wrote on a small piece of paper "Utah" and "Kentucky" on the other and had us choose. I picked Kentucky, which meant I was going to Kentucky instead of staying in Utah.
My plane left Monday morning around 8:45 AM and I got to Denver around 10:30. Made it to my connecting flight, which left around 11 AM. I got to Kentucky around 3:45 (1:45 Utah time) and waited for a person from another plan to drive me to my hotel. I waited until almost 6 and then decided to take a cab - for my first time EVER! The cab trip was almost $40! and that is for about 13 miles from the airport to my hotel!
My hotel is an Embassy Suites (AWESOME place!!!!) and across the parking lot is the office I am working out of. I walked home from work last night and walked there this morning. After work I got a ride to the airport and rented a car for the weekend. I am going to be the only person from the other plans, who is staying the weekend and I didn't want to be stuck at the hotel all weekend, being bored. Now I get to explore Louisville, Kentucky!  --  Tomorrow after work of course.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's day was awesome with my hubby. First I went to work and then physical therapy (for my hip). I got home, sore, tired and hungry. I walked in and Steve had bought a dozen red roses and had them on a vase on the kitchen table. Then he had set the table for dinner - home made lasagna! We ate that and had salad to go with it. Dessert was a slice of strawberry cheesecake - one of my favorites!

It was a nice night - and I'm a horrible wife who didn't get Steve a gift or even a card! I was planning on getting something that night (since we had money) but was way too tired to do anything after physical therapy.

About once a month since August I have gotten sick on a Saturday morning. I usually get a fever of over 102, weakness and a cough. My lungs hurt if I try to breath to deeply. Then by the afternoon or Sunday morning I feel better. I talked to my PCP about it and she had no clue. It always happens on a Saturday and ruins our plans for the weekend.
Because of the lung issues it has caused, I started seeing a Pulmonologist to have my lungs checked out. So far, all the test have come back normal. I have a few more tests and hopefully by then we will have an idea what is going on.
I've already met my $1,500 deductible for the year so now I just need to meet the $3.000 out of pocket! Well, I am on my way!

I've been having pain in my hip for almost 3 months and I decided to go get it checked out. Back in the summer of 2008 or 2009 I was diagnosed with bursitis in my hip after having hip pain and not being able to walk without extreme pain. Well, I would get a flare up of hip pain about once or twice a year. I would go to the Urgent Care clinic and would get a prescription of pain killers and some prednisone. After finishing the prednisone my hip would start getting better.
In November of this year I started having hip pain and so I went to the Urgent Care and got my pain killers and prednisone, but it didn't help. the pain got worse. The night before Thanksgiving we stayed at my in-laws house. I took a percocet before going to bed, another one at 6 AM when I woke up in pain and again at 6 PM when we were on our way home (of course Steve drove). It started to get better and then got worse again about a month after my first Urgent Care visit. I went back to the Urgent Care and got more prednisone, pain killers and a prescription for Physical therapy.

Before starting PT I went and saw an Orthopedic Specialist and had an X-Ray taken of my hip. The doctor thought I might have Femoral acetabular impingement and may possibly need surgery. I am doing PT right now to see if it will help my hip pain. If not, I need to have an MRI done to see if I do have FAI and if so, I will have surgery.

I've been having PT twice a week since last week and every time I have been having PT done in a pool! The PT office is located next door to my office building and the pool they use (and share with other PT providers) is located across the street.  My last visits are next week and if the pain isn't better by then - I get to make an appointment to see my Ortho doctor and schedule an MRI. Hopefully I'm not claustrophobic. I'm not normally, but I've heard having an MRI can make you claustrophobic.
