Steve has been bugging me lately. He's bugging me about not posting on my blog for so long! I have meant to, but things just have gotten so busy lately!
Hunter just told Steve on Wednesday (March 2nd) that his mom (Brenda, Steve's ex-wife) is pregnant with a baby girl and due in June! I was a bit surprised that we are just finding out about it now. She is over halfway through her pregnancy before we find out! It's cool for Hunter though, to finally get a little sister. Steve and I haven't given him one of those yet, but hopefully we can soon.
Steve's computer has been dying a slow, painful death recently. When he would turn it on it would make a chugging sound that made me worried that someone had placed a bomb in it that was getting ready to go off. His computer is my old computer that I bought before Steve and I met. I think I got it around 2004 or 2005. It has Windows XP operating system. For the past few weeks, Steve would be on the computer when it would just shut off on him and restart. A few times it wouldn't restart but just shut down completely. I was getting tired of hearing him complain about his bad computer......so I bought him a new one! He now has a Sony VAIO laptop with over 500GB of memory! At the same time as getting his laptop (a surprise to Steve), I got myself a MacBook Pro. This is my first Mac, and so far I don't notice a difference, except in how to find programs on the computer. Hopefully I'll learn to like it more than a PC, so far...I;m not too impressed - except I didn't have to waste more money on an anti-virus system.
I also bought us a 37 inch LCD TV and BluRay player. We only have the old TVs that you could buy before the new flat screens came out. We took the OLD Magnavox TV out of our bedroom and switched it with the newer TV from Hunter's bedroom. The TV from the living room went into Hunter's room and the new TV went in the living room. It's so nice having such a nice tv! Steve even had the company that handles the Satellite Systems in our apartment complex come and install an HD DR receiver so we can now see TV shows in HD! In addition to all that, I also got us a Wii! Now we actually have a gaming system! Until this past Christmas when Santa Claus brought Hunter a Nintendo DSLite, the only "gaming" system we had (not counting computers) was Hunter's VSmile. Now I feel more advanced - technology wise.
Hopefully I can keep up more on writing on my blog. It's just hard to find time to between work, home and my Cityville and Fronteirville families ;)

What a night!
I went out to dinner tonight with my best friend, Andrea. We went to the Cheesecake Factory (it was awesome). On the way out we both needed to stop at the restroom. I held our take home food while Andrea went to the bathroom and then she held them while I went. Right as I'm about to wipe the lady in the stall next to me starts barfing!!! I have a weak stomach and I had a difficult time not barfing too. I couldn't get out of that bathroom fast enough.
Since Andrea and I had gone out Steve decided to stay overnight at his parent's house (he was up in Ogden picking up Hunter for our weekend). After dinner I decided that we shouldn't see a movie tonight like we had planned. Andrea has to work tomorrow morning at 5:30 and we were at dinner later than I expected. I got home a little after 8 and decided that I didn't want to spend the night alone so I called up my sister and invited her over. Within a 90 minutes Missee and Violet were at my house to hang out with me. We started out by watching "17 Again" (Missee actually said Zac Efron was hot!!!!) and now we're watching "Hush" - 2 movies we watched last time she spent the night! Boy we are predictable but at least we're having fun.

Two years (warning - may be disturbing)
Two years ago today, I spent most of the day in the ER at Lakeview Hospital. Two years and 1 day ago I was pregnant with my first child, the next day I wasn't. It was a very hard thing for me to go through. I almost bled to death and they were going to give me a transfusion but they didn't have to (luckily).
I woke up that morning and noticed that I was bleeding a lot. I woke up Steve and we drove to the hospital (with me sobbing the entire way). I called work before we left home to leave a message for my boss to let her know I would not be in that day. Once in the ER I had to change into a gown and when I took my pants off more blood fell out (it had been sitting in my garments). That only made me dry harder and Steve went to get someone to help. I called my mom and told her that I was losing the baby and then I couldn't handle talking anymore so I said good-bye and hung up.
They had me have an ultrasound so they could see what was left in the uterus. Then the ER Doctor came and examined me and said that the uterus was closed so they would just have the OB on call check me out and then I could go home. Even though they told me I could go home they wouldn't let me eat or drink anything just in case I needed surgery. My mom and dad came to the ER right after my ultrasound. My dad stayed for about 10-20 minutes and then left to go back to work.
The OB came in and saw me and said everything looked good. He checked the ultrasound report and said that it looked like everything was okay so I would be able to go home soon. He also asked me who my OB was and I explained that my OB left her practice to go to the U of U and she was no longer seeing patients (I think she was doing research and or teaching). He told me that he would be my doctor if I wanted to see him. Prior to this I had only seen female OBs and had a thing against seeing a male OB. Dr. Ward changed my mind about that. I really liked him and he is now my OB, even though he is located in Bountiful and I live in Sandy (hopefully the 20 minute drive wont be hard when I'm in labor).
Right before they were going to send me home I sat up in the hospital bed (I had been laying back trying to be as comfortable as possible). I felt a gush of blood coming out and started feeling dizzy. Dr. Ward told me that I looked really pale (a real feat for me as I am usually pale). He decided at that time that (since the bleeding hadn't stopped) I would need a D&C. Luckily I hadn't had anything to eat or drink and the OR had an opening so they could get me in for the surgery within 20 minutes.
I was taken to the OR and put under anesthesia, the next thing I knew I was being moved from the operating table to the hospital bed. They wheeled me to the recovery room where I stayed for a little bit - until I stopped feeling groggy from the anesthesia. Then I was taken to a Same Day Surgery room where Steve and my mom were waiting. Dr. Ward had talked to them after the surgery was completed (and I was still waking up) and told them that there was an orange peel-like thing still in my uterus and that was why I was still bleeding. My body was trying to expel it but since it wouldn't come out I continued to bleed.
After being in the room for a little bit the nurse came in and gave me something to eat (small package of graham crakers) and a drink. Then she asked if I needed to use the bathroom and I did so I got up and walked to the bathroom. Then I got dressed and they let me go home.
When we got home, around 3, there was a basket of flowers on our doorstep from my co-workers (I called my boss while in the ER and let her know what was going on). I walked to the couch and sat down as Steve asked me what I needed. I needed a shower and food. I took a shower and then my mom and Missee came over (with Violet, even though Missee was afraid it would be hard for me to see a baby like Violet). Steve left then and went to Wendy's to get us something to eat. It was so nice to have actual food after so long.
This all happened on a Monday and I didn't go back to work until Thursday or Friday of that same week. I was only about 11 weeks along, not even through the first trimester. After experiencing that I am afraid I wont be able to get pregnant again, or if I do - that I'll have another miscarriage. I guess Steve and I will just have to take that chance.

Hooray!
Steve is finally home! He was discharged from the Residential Unit on Monday. This has been a hard time for both of us but I know that our marriage will just get stronger from this experience.
Before Steve went into the hospital in December we both decided to pray about if we needed to move closer to my work (South Jordan) or stay were we are. Steve said that his answer was to stay in Ogden. I was torn, I love our place and our neighborhood but didn't like being away from my husband for 15 hours a day Monday through Friday. I had been praying about it but no answer. When Steve was admitted to the hospital I realized that I had gotten my answer. Because of my long commute everyday I wasn't home long enough after work before I had to go to bed. Because of the little amount of time that Steve and I spent together during the week I didn't notice the signs. If I would have been home longer every night I could have possibly figured out what was going on and stopped it before it went as far as hospitalization. It is one of my greatest regrets. I feel that I am a horrible wife for not noticing what was going on with him (lack of sleep, aggitation, oneriness) .
I have an appointment with a counselor on Monday after work. Hopefully it will help with my guilt and depression.

Weekend....is it here yet?
Steve gets to come home for the weekend on Thursday and doesn't have to go back until Sunday night. He may possibly be discharged next weekend or the weekend after. I'm really excited for him to be home for good, but I can patiently wait for the next couple of weeks to come.
Last weekend we got to spend time with Hunter. We took him to my nephew's, Russell, birthday party at Jungle Jim's Playland. It was a lot of fun and tiring at the same time. My niece, Violet, fell asleep on one of the rides, it was adorable!
I am trying to take some time off next week so I don't have to be to work on the one year anniversary of my miscarriage. I'm afraid that I'll be too emotional to work. I made an journal right after it happened so that I would have the entire experience down on paper (the reasoning was that if it was on the paper it wouldn't be inside me anymore and I could heal). I still remember certain things vividly. The worst was that after I realized that I was losing the baby I tried to call my mom. I figure that since I had stopped crying I would be able to tell her what was going on. Fat chance. I told her and started sobbing so I had to get off the phone.
I actually could have died if I hadn't gone to the ER. I was losing so much blood that I had to have a D&C. The OB/GYN said that my body was trying to "get rid" of everything and there was something that was not being "flushed out" so I would have bled to death. I almost had to have a blood transfusion. Steve sat there thinking that he was watching me die. Because of the large amount of blood that I lost I was VERY weak and it took SOOOO much energy to get up and walk the 25 feet to the bathroom.
Sorry if this was too graphic for some, but it is a little therapeutic to write this kind of stuff down.

The weekend is FINALLY here
Steve gets to come home for an overnight visit tomorrow! I am so excited, I just wish that he was coming home for good, but I know that he's not ready t come home yet. Soon, but not yet.
I had dinner at Roosters with Brad, Camille, Barbara, Carrie, Tim and Daniel. It was really nice and I had a lot of fun with them. I just wish Steve could have been there. Daniel is so cute, he kept asking for a cheeseburger and then when he finally got it he ate the pickles and a few fries. He's over 2 years old, but he looks and talks like he's 3 years old.
Our Christmas tree is still up and I'm thinking Steve and I will take it down on Sunday. I wanted to keep it up until Steve came home and we could have Christmas with Hunter but I think it's time for it to come down. I'll miss the tree but it's time.

The saga continues
Steve is still not home. He will be gone for over a month by the time he comes home. I really miss him and hope he is home soon. I've seen very little of my step son since Steve went into the hospital. Since I'm only a step parent I have no rights. Luckily Steve's ex wife was nice enough to let my in-laws have Hunter for about three hours on January 3rd. She really didn't have to do that and I was very grateful that she did. I'm trying really hard to make sure things stay civil between Steve and his ex. I really would hate to see Hunter turn out the way my cousin did. Her mom used her to get back at her dad and now I think she's a little bitter towards her dad and mom. Parents should NEVER use their child to punish their ex-spouse. The child has nothing to do with the reason for the divorce and so they should not be involved with it in any way.
